David Dyer
David and his wife Tara have three children; camper Andy, Kaylee and Kelsee.
David enjoys being a member of the Vol Navy and Tara enjoys Middle Eastern
Dancing.
Andrea White
Andrea is a single mother of two beautiful children and is Vice President/General
Counsel of a mid-size corporation. She is one of the founding members of The
Camp Koinonia Foundation. Andrea is a community volunteer who is passionate
about opening doors for those challenged individuals such as her son, Jack.
Paige Dailey
Paige is from Knoxville, Tennessee and has been on the Camp K board for 3
years. Paige and her husband John have a 14 year old daughter named Amber
who has severe neurological damage resulting in mental retardation, seizure
disorder, autistic behaviors and other health-related issues. Paige has been on the
Board for five years and firmly believes in Camp K's mission. Paige and Johnny
enjoy spending time with Amber on the lake, boating and swimming. Camp
Koinonia has been such a positive experience for Amber and all of us.
Elizabeth Ritchie(Beth)
Elizabeth is one of the founding members of Camp Koinonia. She has twin sons
with autism, John and Timothy (20 years old) and a daughter Rebecca (22 years
old). She is a partner in Friends and Faux, which is a faux painting business.
Beth has been an advocate and volunteer for the past 17 years and serves on six
boards. She is also Co-Chairman of a non-profit agency which provides services
to adults with autism.
George Kershaw
George is a father of a former student program director of Camp Koinonia, Julie.
He is Chairman/CEO at D & K Management, Inc and serves on the Camp
Koinonia/Bruce Pearl Golf Committee. George is one of the founding members
of the Camp Koinonia Foundation.
Michael and Carlene LeCompte
Michael and Carlene have a son, Matthew, who is also a camper at camp K
Michael is a small business owner, and thinks Koinonia is a true "caring
community" for both UT students and children with disabilities. Carlene is a dog
lover and thinks camp is a win, win, win for camper, UT students, and for the
parents.
Dean Norton
Dean owns and operates with his wife, Julie, Narrow Trail Ranch - an American
Quarter Horse operation that raises reining and ranch horses. He has two
children, Ryan and Cody, both students at The University of Tennessee at Martin.
Dean is Vice President of The Ranch, a recovery facility (alcohol, drugs, eating
disorders, trauma etc.) located in Middle Tennessee and is an avid sportsman
(hunting, fishing, horseback riding, skiing, hiking and anything else outdoors). He
is also a licensed auctioneer.
James H. Nixon II
James has been married to his wife Christina for 38 years. He has two Children,
James III (Jay) who is a lawyer, and a daughter Jill. Jill was very involved in the
organization and implementation of Camp Koinonia when she was a graduate
assistant in therapeutic recreation at The University of Tennessee. Jill worked on
the T R Grant Staff and played key roles in several years of Camp Koinonia. Jill
is also a teacher in Knox County Schools. James also has 5 grandchildren.
Professionally, he is a Real Estate Developer for Turley and Company -
developers of Turkey Creek and the Pinnacle at Turkey Creek. His hobbies
include: Hunting, Outdoors activities, and UT Sports.
Joseph L. Ortiz
Joe and his wife Nancy and two children, Lauren and Joseph, have called East
Tennessee home for almost 15 years. Joe and Nancy are co-founders of a local
high-tech startup business, 4D Medical Systems Inc., where they combine their
complementary skills in computers, health care, and business. As parents of a
special needs child, the Ortiz's have benefited from Camp Koinonia over the last
several years. Joe brings his experience in business and computers to The Camp
Koinonia Foundation in an effort to build awareness for the organization in the
region and position it for long term growth and preservation.
